Laughing at our mistakes can lengthen our lives.
Laughing at someone else's can shorten it.
-Cullen Hightower

The day I went out to the Broad Ripple Canal to create this painting I was feeling very hurt and distracted.  So much so that I FORGOT TO BRING BRUSHES TO PAINT WITH!

So... I laughed at myself then took the paint straight out of the tubes and smeared it on with my fingers.  Luckily I also had some pens to work with too.  It is not my best painting ever- but it was fun to do once I got over my 'great expectations.'

It reminds me of those crazy bright Fauve paintings like Matisse and Derain...
This is one of my favorite Fauve paintings by George Braque.
It was stolen from the Paris Museum of Modern Art.
